Accountant

Job Description : We are seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant with 6-8 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent attention to detail and in-depth knowledge of IFRS, Corporate Tax, VAT and Withholding Tax .

Main Accountabilities:

· Perform end-to-end accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.

· Handle invoicing and cash application, maintaining accurate records of customer payments and outstanding balances.

· Account for fixed assets and depreciation, maintaining an up-to-date register of company assets.

· Book expenses, provisions, and accruals accurately, contributing to precise financial reporting.

· Handle accounting for leases and related party transactions, ensuring adherence to accounting principles.

· Process employee and vendor payments, coordinating with relevant departments for timely disbursements.

· Perform reconciliations, ensuring accurate records of financial transactions and account balances.

· Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules as per the month-close schedule, adhering to reporting deadlines.

· Maintain the company’s tax records, ensuring they are up to date and compliant with the tax regulations at all times.

· Review existing contracts, accounting systems, and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency.

· Interface with all VAT Auditors and FTA Inspectors, providing necessary documentation and support during the audit process.

· Generate management reports and conduct financial analysis to provide valuable insights to the management team.

· Prepare financial reports and detailed analysis to facilitate informed decision-making and strategic planning.

· Develop and prepare annual budgets as well as monthly, quarterly and half-yearly forecasts in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

· Prepare audit schedules and cater to all audit requirements to ensure a smooth audit process.

· Coordinate and support the ERP implementation process, collaborating with IT and other departments.

Job Specification:

· Bachelor’s or higher degree in Commerce/Accounting/Finance.

· Professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent) in Accounting/Finance is highly desirable.

· 6-8 years of relevant work experience in accounting and taxation, preferably with experience in the Education industry.

· In-depth understanding of IFRS and International Accounting Standards.

· Thorough knowledge of UAE Corporate Tax and VAT laws.

· Proficiency in MS Office suite and experience in working with ERP packages to manage financial data efficiently.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer service focus.

· Ability to work independently with minimal daily supervision, taking ownership of tasks and projects.

· Strong negotiation skills and ability to build relationships and influence decision-making will be key to your effectiveness in this role.

· A team player with a knack for documenting workflows and processes.
